Description
Blake Point marks the north east end of Isle Royale and is a simple skeletal metal tower that was placed in service in 1917. The light replaced a gas operated light and bell buoy that marked the eastern edge of an 18 foot shoal just off the eastern end of the island. The light pairs with the lighthouse on Passage Island for ships "threading the needle" between the two islands. The tower also has orange and white diamond daymarks.
