Description
The lighthouse sits on a spit of land jutting out into the Strait of Magellan about 20 km south of the town of Puerto de Hambre (Port Famine). There is a large one story keeper's residence and a 26' masonry tower. Rowlett noted that the tower was in disrepair. Although I was shooting from a distance with very long telephoto lenses when we passed this light twice in February 2009, that didn't seem to be the case. The tower looked to be intact and freshly painted with a horizontal red band.
