Description
The first lighthouse built on Great Captain Island was a 30 foot stone tower established in 1830. The present lighthouse was erected in 1868. Unfortunately, the lighthouse cannot be seen from land. While there is a ferry to Great Captain Island, it is for Greenwich residents only. The lighthouse was deactivated in 1970.
