Description
The Prescott Rotary Light is a replica that was built by the Prescott Rotary Club in memory of a late member, G. Judson Newell. The tower is octagonal of wood construction with a red lantern. The light is a private aid to navigation in season and also serves as an ice cream stand and gift shop in the summer months. The lantern and Fresnel lens, however are authentic and were donated by the Canadian Coast Guard. The lens was originally used for training purposes at the old Dominion Lighthouse Depot, which was located where the Canadian CG base now stands on King Street West.
