Description
The Sandy Point Shoal Lighthouse was constructed to replace the 1853 light on shore. The lighthouse is a 2.5 story red brick keeper's residence atop a cast iron and concrete caisson a little to the north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. The lighthouse has a cast iron roof and lantern room.
