Description
This is one of the most popular lighthouses in South Africa. The Hood Point Lighthouse has seen action since 1895; and is South Africa's oldest original lighthouse. It still has a diaphone foghorn operating there! The lighthouse has a 1st Order Fresnel Lens still operating and gives 4 group flashes every 40 seconds. This lighthouse was never automated to keep its history alive!
