DescriptionGetting to 9 Mile Point lighthouse is a day's adventure. From Kingston, you first take the Wolfe Island Ferry. When you drive off the ferry, you proceed straight, turning right onto Rte 96. After 3.5 miles you'll see a gravel road that leads to a two car cable ferry that will take you across to Simcoe Island. You follow the only "main" road on Simcoe Island to it's end and the lighthouse at 9 Mile Point. You need to cross private property to get to the lighthouse. Visitors are allowed if the gate is unlocked but the owners have requested the people not treat the beach as public. (My photos were shot years ago before that proviso was added).
