DescriptionThe current Pentwater South Pierhead Light is a skeletal tower that replaced a tower originally built in 1867 that was destoryed. The light can be accessed by taking Longbridge Road from US 31 and then turning right onto Chester Street. The lighthouse is a short walk along a paved walkway that leads to the south pier. There are also good views of the light from Mears State Park a short distance from downtown Pentwater.
