DescriptionThe Cleveland Harbor East Pierhead Light stands at the western end of a 4 mile long breakwater that protects the Cleveland Harbor. The first light was built in this location in 1884. The present tower was built in 1910 and automated in 1959. The tower was originally equipped with a 5th order Fresnel lens that has since been replaced by a modern optic.
Distant views of this light can also be had from the parking lot at the end of E 9th Street on the lakefront ($8 parking). The best views are again from the water on the Goodtime III, which departs from the same area.
