DescriptionLime Point was originally constructed as a fog signal station in 1883; the light was added in 1900. The remaining portion of the structure stands on a small finger of land the juts out into San Francisco Bay just east of the north tower of the Golden Gate Bridge. For security reasons, it is now almost impossible to obtain a close view of this light from land. The best views are to be had from the water. The photo shown was shot from atop Fort Point on the south side of the Golden Gate Bridge.
