DescriptionThe Muskegon South Pierhead Light was built in 1903 and is a square pyramidal tower painted bright red so that it is visible from the lake in the daytime. The tower stands 50 feet tall and has a focal plane of 70 feet. The base of the tower is open to the public if they're willing to walk out the long pier (highly dangerous in storm conditions!).
