DescriptionYellow 41 foot tall square tower located on Ingˇlfsh÷fi, a large promontory surrounded by black sand and water, 6 km south of Hofsnes. In the summer, Ingˇlfsh÷fi is home to a significant number of Atlantic Puffins and other birds.
The first settler of Iceland, Ingˇlfr Arnarson, spent the winter at Ingˇlfsh÷fi during his first visit to the country in the year 871.
Unfortunately, I was unable to take a picture of the light as there was heavy rain during my visit, however David Grenewetzki was gracious enough to let us display his photo on this page.
