DescriptionLocated on the Keweenaw peninsula in upper Michigan, this lighthouse is on the shores of Lake Superior. Its tower is octagonal in shape and made of red brick. The side that faces the lake was painted white to make it more visible from the water.
In 1999, Congress transferred ownership to the historical society. It is still an active light.
