&lt;span class="postbody"&gt;WELLFLEET, Mass. - Local historians for decades thought the 30-foot tall lighthouse that once overlooked Wellfleet Harbor had been taken down and destroyed in 1925.

The Friends of Pomham Rocks Lighthouse will host a Lighthouse Dinner Cruise on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 4 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person. The cruise will begin in Warren, onboard the 85-foot luxury yacht, the Harbor Queen, and will travel up Narragansett Bay into East Providence to the Pomham Rocks Lighthouse.

The 9 lighthouse sites quoted are just the ones that are part of the challenge.  Thanks Rich, I might have to pass because the weather isn't looking too promising tomorrow.

Having seen/photogrpahed all of the lights in Door County and all but a few of those that are part of the LI Lighthouse Challenge, I think DC gets my personal vote for America's Lighthouse County irrespective of what Suffolk county may wish to claim.
